Our Very-Low Moisture (VLM) carpet cleaning service begins with a dry extraction. During this initial step, a skilled technician will vigorously rake the carpet by hand using a specialized nylon pile rake. In this crucial "mechanical cleaning” step, trapped particles are dislodged from the base of carpet fibers. This makes it possible to achieve a deeper level of extraction during the next step: vacuuming.
After the carpet fibers have been power raked and agitated, the dust and dirt are ready to be removed with a high-powered professional vacuum. It’s essential to remove debris before any moisture is applied (otherwise you risk creating mud). Your Be Green service provider will be meticulous around edges and corners as they remove dust, dirt, and debris. During this step, our process isolates fats, oils, and proteins, which will be treated with enzymes next.
Next, a pretreatment enzyme will be applied directly to everyday household stains (such as food and drink spills and high-traffic areas). In addition to being eco-friendly, this enzymatic solution is 100% safe for children and pets. Please note that pet accidents and bodily fluids typically require applications of DeoGerm (is an organic deodorizer with disinfecting properties) to neutralize stubborn stains and odors. Before any work has begun, your carpet cleaning technician will inform you if this is necessary
After the enzyme has digested the oils and proteins, a dry foam cleaning solution is massaged into the carpet fibers with a rotary floor machine. The VLM method relies on natural encapsulation chemicals that surround and capture dirt instead of "wet" carpet cleaning, which uses detergents to loosen the dirt. With 70% less water and waste, carpets and rugs are less prone to mold and mildew, and suctioning water out of the carpet is unnecessary. Our VLM carpet cleaning process dries within 2 - 4 hours without using harsh chemicals or leaving a sticky residue.
During this last step, your technician will groom the carpet pile once again with the power rake. This gives the carpet back some of its original luster and fluffiness while giving the fibers space to dry even faster. As the carpet dries, the all-natural enzymes crystalize into microscopic amounts of protein which are encapsulated by the natural polymers in the cleansing foam. The remaining particles are odor-free, nearly invisible, and will be removed during your normal vacuuming schedule. The final results are clean, fresh-smelling carpets that pets and children can safely enjoy until your next appointment.
*Regular vacuuming should not occur until 48 hours after your carpet cleaning appointment. Vacuuming before 48 hours could disrupt the encapsulation process allowing the encapsulated particles to be re-dispersed.
