How Much Does Professional Carpet Cleaning Cost?

Carpet cleaning is essential for maintaining a clean and healthy home environment, but many people wonder about the cost of professional services and if it is worth the investment. In this article, we’ll delve into the factors that impact professional carpet cleaning costs and help you make informed decisions regarding your carpet maintenance.

Carpet Cleaning Costs and Considerations

When it comes to keeping your home’s carpets fresh and clean, professional carpet cleaning services offer a convenient solution. However, the costs can vary significantly depending on several factors, including

  1. Size of the Area:

The starting point for estimating carpet cleaning costs is the size of the area you need to clean. Typically, professional carpet cleaners charge per room or square foot. Larger areas will naturally incur higher costs. Most professional cleaners will consider a room size between 200 – 300 square feet, so be sure to ask. There is typically a little flex in measuring, but if you have a huge master room or a living/dining room that is joined, these are usually considered two areas.

  1. Level of Soil and Stains:

The extent of dirt, stains, and grime in your carpets can significantly affect the price you’ll pay for cleaning. Heavily soiled carpets may require more time and effort to clean thoroughly. Most professional carpet cleaners are equipment with pretreatment or spotter applied before the cleaning solution to tackle these tough spots. It is worth mentioning that some severely set-in stains may not be able to be removed entirely or might require additional treatments.

  1. Carpet Material and Type:

Different carpet materials, such as wool or synthetic fibers, and specific carpet types, like Berber or plush, may require distinct cleaning methods. These variations can impact the overall cost, so agree on the scope of work and price before your technician starts.

  1. Additional Services:

Beyond standard cleaning, additional services can affect the total cost. Options like stain guard protection and contamination treatments can add value by extending the life of your carpets (meaning you won’t have to replace them as quickly), but come at an extra expense. Adding a stain guard will help maintain carpets between professional cleanings and make your regular household vacuuming more effective.

Types of Carpet Cleaning: Hot Water Extraction vs. Very Low Moisture (VLM)

When hiring a professional carpet cleaning service, you’ll often have the choice between two primary cleaning methods: hot water extraction and Very Low Moisture (VLM) cleaning.

Hot Water Extraction:

Hot water extraction, commonly known as steam cleaning, involves using hot water and cleaning agents to deep-clean your carpets. Steam cleaning has been around for a long time and is effective for removing deep-seated dirt and stains but requires more drying time and could add to the risk of mold or mildew growth. Other factors such as technician skill level, equipment, and types of chemicals used also impact the effectiveness of this type of cleaning.

Very Low Moisture (VLM) Cleaning:

Very Low Moisture (VLM) cleaning, on the other hand, is a newer method that uses about 70% less was. It’s an eco-friendly and faster option, making it ideal for homes where quick drying is essential. Unlike hot water extraction which often times doesn’t include a thorough vacuuming, VLM starts with a dry extraction which includes vigorous raking and detailed vacuuming to remove dirty and debris.

After these steps, the pretreat is applied to specific areas, and the cleaning solutions is massaged into the carpet fibers with a buffer.

Requesting Quotes and Comparing Services

To ensure you get the best value for your investment, it’s advisable to request quotes from multiple carpet cleaning companies. When doing so, consider asking questions about their cleaning methods (and products), extras (some cleaners require an additional fee for apartments on higher floors), service guarantees, and any additional services they offer.

It goes without saying that reading reviews is a great way to evaluate any business, just be sure to dig further than the first review you see.

You can expect to pay anywhere from $35 – $78 per room of cleaning, depending on promotions, time of year, and the general location of your property. Just about all professional carpet cleaning companies will have a service minimum to come out, so if you only need one room cleaned, it would be best to add disinfectant or stain guard for ensure you are getting your money’s worth.

Tips for Saving on Carpet Cleaning

While maintaining the cleanliness of your carpets is essential, there are strategies to save on professional carpet cleaning costs:

  • Regular Maintenance: Regularly vacuuming and addressing stains promptly can help extend the life of your carpets, reducing the need for frequent deep cleaning.
  • Seasonal Savings: Look for seasonal and holiday discounts or promotions from reputable carpet cleaning companies by signing up for newsletters and subscribing.
  • Loyal discounts or referral savings: If you have previously used a company you like, sign up for their loyal programs. Some companies offer credits and rewards for referrals, so your next cleaning could be free.
  • Whole-house Cleaning Bundles: The easiest way to create instant savings is to have your entire house cleaned in one appointment. This can include carpets, stairs, area rugs, upholstery, and even mattresses! To be frank, your technician can offer the most significant discount while they are in-house. The reason is simply that it costs less (time and money) to clean your entire house than having them return a few months later. So, don’t be shy about asking for a quote that includes cleaning, disinfecting, and stain guard; you’d be surprised at how fast the savings add up.

FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

How often should I have my carpets professionally cleaned?

The frequency of professional carpet cleaning depends on factors like foot traffic and the presence of pets or allergies. In general, it’s recommended to clean high-traffic areas every 6-12 months.

What’s the difference between stain guard protection and contamination treatments?

Stain guard protection creates a protective barrier on your carpet, making it more resistant to stains. Contamination treatments focus on removing allergens, bacteria, and odors from the carpet.

Is VLM cleaning as effective as hot water extraction for deep cleaning?

Yes, VLM cleaning is highly effective for carpet, area rugs, and upholstery cleaning. Not only that, it uses 70% less water, dries faster, and is safe for pets, kids, and the environment.

Are there any DIY carpet cleaning methods I can use to save money?

You can use DIY methods for regular maintenance, such as frequent vacuuming and spot cleaning. However, professional cleaning is necessary periodically for a thorough and deep clean to ensure healthier indoor air quality.

Do all professional carpet cleaners charge the same rates?

No, rates can vary significantly between different carpet cleaning companies. Factors such as location, the method used, and the level of soiling/contamination can influence pricing. You can expect to pay anywhere from $35 – $78 per room for standard cleaning.

In conclusion, understanding the cost of professional carpet cleaning, the available cleaning options, and the importance of optional treatments empowers homeowners to make informed choices. By considering the impact on both your budget and the longevity of your carpets, you can ensure a clean and inviting living space for years to come.

DIY Vs. Professional Cleaning for Pet Stains: The Real Truth

A lighthearted image of a pet stain mess on the carpet with a cute dog

Pets add a dose of happiness to our lives, but with them come a few challenges – one of them being pet stains on the carpet. Many of us resort to DIY cleaning methods, but are they as effective as professional carpet cleaning for pets? And can old pet urine stains still be effectively cleaned? This article aims to answer these questions and shed light on the pros and cons of DIY and professional carpet cleaning.

The Shortcomings of DIY Methods

An image of someone attempting DIY cleaning methods

Let’s start with the most frequently asked question – “Can I clean pet stains on my carpet myself?” The short answer is yes, but it’s not without its shortcomings. One common mistake many pet owners make when cleaning up pet stains is using vinegar or baking soda. While these might seem like effective and readily available cleaning agents, they often do more harm than good.

Vinegar and baking soda only mask the odor temporarily, which may encourage your pet to soil the same area again. The smell often returns once the masking effect wears off, sending you into a constant cycle of cleaning. Scrubbing, a method commonly used in DIY cleaning, can also push the stain deeper into the carpet fibers, exacerbating the problem.

Now you might be wondering – “What if the pet stains are old? Can they still be cleaned?” The answer is yes, but it may require a professional touch. Old urine stains are tricky as they seep deeper into the carpet over time. The good news is, no matter how old or set-in the stain, professional cleaning services can get them out effectively and efficiently.

The Advantages of a Professional Carpet Cleaning

So, what makes professional cleaning a better option? Professional cleaners use specialized tools and high-quality cleaning solutions to identify and treat pet stains effectively.

Moreover, with professional cleaning, you get to tackle stubborn stains that have been there for ages. DeoGerm, when applied multiple times, can effectively remove old pet urine stains and thoroughly deodorize the area. Professional services also help protect your carpets from future stains, extending their lifespan and potentially helping to extend the life of your carpets.

Another question that we often get asked is – “What methods do professionals use for cleaning pet stains?” Professional carpet cleaners follow specific, detailed cleaning processes. For instance, we provide a final walk-through to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Is there a significant difference in the effectiveness between professional cleaning and DIY methods?

Yes, there’s a marked difference. Professional cleaning not only extends the lifespan of carpets but also effectively removes allergens, pollutants, and tough contaminants like pet stains. While DIY methods might provide surface-level results, they often can’t match the deep, residue-free clean offered by professionals.

The Takeaway

To sum it up, while DIY methods may offer a quick fix, professional carpet cleaning provides a comprehensive solution for pet stains and odors. By opting for professional services, you get to save time, prevent repetitive cleaning, and ensure a cleaner, healthier environment for you and your pet.

As Ruth Powers, a satisfied customer, noted: “My carpets look AMAZING!!! I have an older carpet with pet stains and high traffic areas… Robert removed all the pet stains… I would so recommend these guys and will definitely be using them again.”

Does Carpet Cleaning Extend or Shorten the Life of Your Carpets?

When you install carpets in your house, you hope they’ll last forever. Unfortunately, carpet manufacturers anticipate that you will need to replace your carpets eventually. So, how can you keep your carpets looking soft and fluffy for years to come?

Carpet is one of the most expensive investments we make in our homes. Therefore, it’s crucial to choose the carpet cleaning method that will make your carpets and area rugs last.

Carpet Cleaning Methods and Their Effect on Carpet Life

Traditionally, people have cleaned carpets using wet methods like hot water extraction and steam cleaning. However, these methods have drawbacks such as higher costs, the potential for mold and mildew, and longer drying times (up to 24 hours).

On the other hand, there’s VLM (very low moisture) carpet cleaning. Our VLM method is a five-step, eco-friendly, sustainable, and incredibly effective process. Using a dry foam cleaning solution, you can cleanse your rugs and carpets thoroughly, and they’ll be dry within two to four hours of the cleaning, making this method much less disruptive.

Wet Cleaning

Wet cleaning methods, including hot water extraction and steam cleaning, use pressure and hot water to release stains and debris hidden in your carpet. While cleaning your carpet is always a smart move, there’s the risk of creating mold or mildew due to operator error with wet cleaning methods. If you end up with mold or mildew in your carpets, that can actually reduce your carpet’s lifespan.

Dry Cleaning

DIY carpet shampooing might feel like an attractive option, but it often leaves behind residue that attracts dust and dirt. This can reduce your carpet’s lifespan. The best method of cleaning your carpets is VLM cleaning. Our pretreatment solution is made from all-natural enzymes, so it’s safe for children and pets. It loosens residues trapped in the carpet fibers so they can easily be vacuumed up with dry foam encapsulation. And the best part of all? Quicker drying times.

Choosing the Right Carpet Cleaning Company

Not all carpet cleaning companies are created equal. If you’re looking for a safe, all-natural solution for your carpet cleaning, look no further than Be Green. But no matter which method you choose, it’s crucial to find a professional, high-quality carpet cleaning company. Anything less can end up doing more harm than good.

How VLM Carpet Cleaning Makes Your Carpets Last Longer

When you get your carpets or area rugs professionally cleaned, you will be able to remove any built-up dirt or debris that can cause wear and tear. Leaving your carpets without the proper maintenance is not just a neutral solution – it’s actually hurting your carpets.

If you give dirt and dust the chance to take up residence in your carpet for a prolonged period of time, they will rub against the carpet’s fibers, deteriorating them and degrading the look and feel of your rug. That’s why working with a professional carpet cleaner is essential when it comes to extending the life of your carpets.

While other carpet cleaning methods can be helpful, VLM stands out as the most effective. With wet cleaning strategies, there is a high risk of error if you end up with an inexperienced technician or a less-than-reputable cleaning company. Improper wet cleaning can actually leave your rug with the potential for mold or mildew, doing more damage in the long run.

DIY cleaning methods are another strategy that can easily go wrong. While shampooing your own carpet might seem like the most cost-effective solution, it’s likely that at-home carpet cleaning products have high levels of harmful chemicals. But that’s not all: When you use DIY methods to clean your carpets you actually might be setting them up to get dirtier even faster.

DIY carpet cleaning methods can leave behind significant residue, altering the feel of your carpets and actually attracting dirt and dust. That means your carpet will re-soil more quickly, and dirt and debris will degrade your carpet’s fibers faster than ever before.

At the end of the day, VLM carpet cleaning is simply unparalleled. Our VLM carpet cleaning methods use all-natural chemicals that preserve the health and safety of your home. With quick dry times, you’ll never have to worry about mold or mildew. Plus, our five-step process will get all the dirt out of your carpet, making it last longer than you ever imagined.

Why VLM Carpet Cleaning is the Best Option

The Method

Our VLM cleaning process involves five steps carried out by an experienced technician. First, the technician will begin with a dry extraction using a rake to dislodge any particles trapped at the base of the rug’s fibers.

Next, we’ll use a high-powered vacuum to remove any freed debris. Stained or soiled areas will get a special pretreatment using our eco-friendly enzymatic solution, which will help stains and dirt detach from the carpet’s fibers. The VLM cleanse comes next, using a rotary machine and a powerful dry foam cleaning solution.

When we massage the dry foam into the rug or carpet, it doesn’t drench the rug like traditional wet cleaning methods do. There’s no water that has to be sucked out, meaning that the carpet will dry much faster (within two to four hours of the initial cleaning).

The final step in the process is grooming, during which our technicians reset the carpet’s pile back to its original height. That leaves your rug looking fresh and fluffy again so that you can enjoy it. The effective cleaning and the environmental friendliness of this method make it stand out as the best option in the business.

Advantages of VLM Cleaning

When compared with traditional steam cleaning, VLM carpet cleaning comes with a number of standout advantages. It generally offers a more affordable price point, it’s an effective cleaning method, and it’s much less disruptive due to its shorter drying times. Plus, when you use an all-natural cleaning company like Be Green, you can have the peace of mind that your family and pets will always be safe after a carpet cleaning.

Carpet is a serious investment, and it can add so much to a room. Did you know that replacing carpet costs an average of $8 per square foot (and luxury brands can cost much more)? That means that to carpet a medium-sized living room that’s around 200 square feet, you’ll be out about $1,600. That’s over 10X what you’d pay to clean your carpets instead.

Dirty, dusty carpets aren’t doing your house any favors in the look or smell departments. That’s where all-natural VLM carpet cleaning comes in. If you’re looking to protect your carpets – and your investment – look no further than Be Green Carpet Cleaning.

Have you been putting off cleaning your carpets due to cost, inconvenience, or worries about finding the right technician? There’s no better time than now – and we’re here to help. With our safe, environmentally friendly VLM carpet cleaning methods, we’ll have your carpet in tip-top shape in no time. Schedule your cleaning today!

Carpet Replacement Vs. Carpet Cleaning: What’s Best for You?

Over the past decade, Be Green Carpet Cleaning has made a name for itself as a leading provider of carpet cleaning services. Since 2011, we have been helping our clients maintain the beauty and longevity of their carpets while also making their homes healthier. One question we hear often is whether it’s better to get a professional cleaning or consider carpet replacement. So, let’s dive into it so you can make the best decision for your home.

When to Opt for Carpet Cleaning

Living room with sofas with a freshly cleaned carpet. A pattern of clean lines marks is visible in the carpet indicated that it has recently been professionally cleaning. A Be Green carpet cleaner can be seen in the top right corner operating a carpet cleaning machine. This is an example of choosing a cleaning rather than carpet replacement. At Be Green Carpet Cleaning, we use a 5-star very low-moisture carpet cleaning process. Our services typically range from $99 to $500, depending on the scope of the work. Considering the high cost of purchasing and installing a new carpet, regular cleaning is certainly a more affordable alternative. Here are some instances where professional cleaning would be a better choice than replacing your carpets:

  1. High-Quality Carpets: If you’ve invested in high-quality, expensive carpets, a professional cleaning can help maintain their quality and appearance, prolonging their lifespan.
  2. Historic or Antique Carpets: Replacing antique or historic carpets and rugs may not be an option. Professional cleaners can restore these carpets carefully to ensure there is no damage.
  3. Light Wear and Tear: If your carpet’s main issue is dirt, stains, or light wear and tear from regular use, a professional carpet cleaning can help it smell better, look better, and last longer. They can also add a stain guard treatment that will provide added protection in between cleanings.
  4. Mildew and Mold: If there’s a mildew or mold problem that hasn’t deeply penetrated the carpet padding, professional cleaners may be able to effectively remediate the issue before it becomes a serious health consideration. This is especially important in more humid climates.
  5. Allergy Relief: Carpets can harbor allergens like dust mites and pet dander. Regular professional cleanings can help reduce these allergens and improve your overall indoor air quality.
  6. Move-Out or End of Lease Cleaning: If you’re renting and moving out, a professional carpet cleaning can help you get your full security deposit back.
  7. Odor Removal: Carpets can trap unpleasant odors from pets, spills, or smoke. Professional cleaners have specialized treatments such as DeoGerm to eliminate these odors properly.
  8. Appearance Maintenance: For businesses, maintaining the appearance of a carpet can be crucial for the image of the company. Regular professional cleaning can keep the carpet looking (and smelling) fresh and inviting.
  9. Sustainability: If you’re looking to minimize your environmental footprint, having your carpet professionally cleaned instead of replaced can reduce landfill waste and the energy required to manufacture and transport new carpeting.

Moreover, all of our work is guaranteed for 30 days. If you’re not completely satisfied or notice any issues after your appointment, do not hesitate to call us.

When to Consider Carpet Replacement

Old carpet in a room that is worn down. Example of carpet replacement.

Despite the effectiveness of professional cleaning, there are times when it makes more sense to replace your carpet:

  1. Heavy Wear and Tear: If your carpet is significantly worn out, frayed, or has large, irreparable tears, it may be time to replace it.
  2. Deep Set Stains: Some stains are too stubborn or have been set in too deeply for even professional cleaning to remove. Examples include pet urine stains, road tar, colored dyes or pigments, and coffee.
  3. Post-Disaster Cleaning: After severe flooding or a fire where the carpet is severely damaged, professional cleaning can’t help restore the carpet.

Your home is an investment, and so are your carpets. You can help protect your carpet investment by getting regular maintenance cleanings. The Be Green team is here to answer your questions and make sure that your carpet looks and smells its best for as long as possible.

Does Carpet Cleaning Improve Air Quality?

Are you experiencing itchy eyes, a congested or runny nose, or frequent coughing at home? Your carpets might be the culprit. This article will examine the relationship between carpet cleaning and air quality, highlighting the benefits of the Very Low Moisture (VLM) carpet cleaning method and what you can do to maintain a healthy and safe home environment.

Over time, carpets accumulate dirt, allergens, dust, and mold that can be difficult to see. As these contaminants build up, they can significantly impact your indoor air quality and your family’s health. Regular carpet cleaning can help improve your home’s air quality, ensuring everyone breathes cleaner air.

How Carpet Cleaning Enhances Indoor Air Quality

Various pollutants can end up in your carpet, both from inside and outside your home. Common contaminants include dirt, debris, dust, pet dander and hair, pollen, bacteria, mold spores, and dust mites. Stains may also result from spills, pet accidents, or vomit.

Carpets trap these pollutants, which can later be released into the air. When carpets are vacuumed or cleaned using DIY methods, dirt, dust, debris, and mold trapped in the fibers can be dislodged, worsening your indoor air quality (IAQ). Poor IAQ can lead to health issues, particularly for those with allergies or respiratory illnesses.

Improving IAQ with VLM Carpet Cleaning

Using Be Green’s professional carpet cleaning methods, you can remove microscopic particles and allergens, resulting in a fresher-smelling home and improved indoor air quality.

VLM carpet cleaning is an effective method for enhancing IAQ because it uses dry foam encapsulation to trap and remove contaminants. Our technicians utilize an eco-friendly enzymatic solution and minimal water, reducing drying times and the risk of mold and mildew growth.

A before (top) and after (bottom) photo showing the results of a living room carpet cleaning by Be Green.

The VLM Carpet Cleaning Method Explained

Let’s delve into the specifics of our VLM carpet cleaning technique. Our experienced technicians execute a five-step process in your home.

  1. The technician starts by raking your carpet to dislodge particles trapped deep in the fibers, improving indoor air quality.
  2. A high-powered vacuum cleaner removes the dislodged dust and dirt from your home’s breathing zone.
  3. Any stained or very soiled areas are treated with an eco-friendly enzymatic “spotter” solution that dissolves contaminants using all-natural methods.
  4. Our technician massages our powerful dry foam cleaning solution into your carpet using a rotary machine. Unlike traditional steam cleaning methods, this dry foam doesn’t saturate the rug, allowing it to dry within one to four hours. Therefore, extraction is not required.
  5. During this last step, your technician will reset the carpet nap or pile back to its original height, making it look and feel amazingly clean. As the carpet dries, the all-natural enzyme evaporates, leaving microscopic amounts of protein that become encapsulated by the natural polymers in the cleansing foam. Once encapsulated, these particles are easily removed, resulting in a clean, safe, and fresh-smelling carpet without any sticky residue.

*Regular vacuuming should not occur until 48 hours after your carpet cleaning appointment. Vacuuming before 48 hours could disrupt the encapsulation process, allowing the encapsulated particles to be re-dispersed.

Be Green's VLM (Very Low Moisture) method in motion. A rotary carpet buffer applies eco-friendly enzymes to the fibers leaving the carpets fresh and the indoor air quality drastically improved.

Why VLM is the Best Method

Traditional carpet cleaning methods, such as steam cleaning or hot water extraction, can be more expensive and less effective. These methods use more water, leading to longer drying times and increased mold and mildew development risk.

DIY cleaning methods may seem cost-effective, but they often leave residue and rely on harsh chemicals that can negatively impact your home’s air quality. VLM carpet cleaning, on the other hand, uses all-natural chemicals to maintain a healthy and safe home environment.

The Importance of Regular Carpet Cleaning

The Carpet and Rug Institute states that regular carpet cleaning is the best way to maintain the indoor air quality in homes. A consistent cleaning schedule prevents dirt and debris buildup, which can degrade carpet quality over time.

Professional carpet cleaning may seem like an upfront cost, but it can save you money in the long run by extending the lifespan of your carpets. With regular VLM carpet cleaning, you can keep trapped dust and dirt from wearing out your rugs.

VLM Carpet Cleaning: What is it?

Very low moisture carpet cleaning buffer

Every step that we take toward caring for our environment makes a big difference. Even efforts that feel small, like refillable water bottles or choosing green cleaning products and processes, make a significant impact over time. We only have one Earth, so it’s important to treat it with love and care.

Because we care about our planet, Be Green Carpet Cleaning is focused on reducing our waste and choosing sustainable practices. That’s where VLM (very low moisture) carpet cleaning comes into play.

It’s a green solution, but that’s not its only benefit. Eco-friendly VLM carpet cleaning not only improves the appearance of carpets but also enhances indoor air quality and extends the life of carpets.

The VLM Carpet Cleaning Method

Our VLM cleaning process has five simple steps. First, our technicians begin with a dry extraction that involves a vigorous raking of the carpet that dislodges any particles trapped at the base of the rug’s fibers. After that, a high-powered vacuum cleaner is used to remove dust, dirt, and any other debris.

Once those steps are complete, any stained or soiled areas of the carpet or area rug will be pretreated with an eco-friendly enzymatic solution. This step is followed by the VLM cleanse.

Using a rotary machine, our powerful dry foam cleaning solution is massaged deep into the carpet fibers. It doesn’t soak the rug as traditional steam cleaning methods do. Therefore, carpet will be dry within one to four hours of the cleaning.

Finally, our technicians complete the final grooming, resetting the carpet pile back to its original height and making it refreshed and fluffy again. As the rug dries, the natural enzymes in the cleaning solution evaporate. In no time, your carpets and area rugs will be clean and fresh-smelling once again.

In general, the VLM method is considered a superior carpet cleaning method. This is due to its environmentally friendly processes and its effective cleaning method that leaves rugs looking and feeling revitalized.

While steam cleaning can tackle more challenging, set-in stains, it comes with a cost: that is, longer dry times and a greater risk of mold and mildew. If you have a serious stain (such as one involving oil or blood), a technician will be able to advise you on the best method to handle that stain. But rest assured, that the VLM method will be able to handle almost any stain.

There’s also an old school carpet cleaning method known as steam cleaning, a process also called hot water extraction. But steam cleaning can be expensive, and the carpets take longer to dry because so much water is used.

VLM carpet cleaning, on the other hand, uses minimal water combined with the power of natural enzymes. That makes it more sustainable, more cost-effective, and quicker for the rugs to dry.

Benefits of Eco-Friendly VLM Carpet Cleaning

No matter how dedicated you are to vacuuming your carpet and avoiding spills, there’s no getting around the fact that dust, dirt, allergens, and bacteria accumulate in carpets over time. Professional carpet cleaning allows you to aggressively target these buildups while also using best practices that prolong the life of your carpets. Saving you money in the long run.

When you opt for VLM carpet cleaning, you’ll get a thorough yet gentle cleaning of your carpets and area rugs. VLM carpet cleaning is an eco-friendly way to keep them looking great, plus, it offers a much quicker drying time than traditional methods.

Improved Indoor Air Quality

Chances are that your carpets are home to some unwanted guests – most notably, allergens, dust mites, microbes, and dirt. These pesky microscopic particles can lead to allergies and odors. Be Green’s Professional carpet cleaning using the VLM method will be able to remove those carpet clingers, making your home smell better and leaving you with improved air quality.

VLM carpet cleaning also uses significantly less water than traditional cleaning methods do. That means that your carpet will take a shorter time to dry, reducing the potential for mold and mildew buildup. Remember, whatever’s living in your carpets is also floating through the air in your house – especially if it gets loosened up by vacuuming. Add DEOGerm in your next cleaning for the best results.

Extended Carpet Life

One of the many benefits of VLM carpet cleaning is its ability to extend the life of your carpets. When you get your carpets or area rugs professionally cleaned, you’ll be able to remove dirt and debris that cause wear and tear. If dirt and dust particles live in your carpet for a prolonged period of time, they’ll rub against the carpet’s fibers, deteriorating them.

Carpets and area rugs can be a big investment – so make sure you’re protecting your investment with regular cleaning. Professional VLM carpet cleaning is known to prevent the need for costly repairs or replacements. Staying on top of your carpet cleaning can save you significant money by protecting your investment.

How VLM Carpet Cleaning is Eco-Friendly

At Be Green Carpet Cleaning, we’re dedicated to sustainability and reducing our environmental footprint. That’s why we opt for VLM carpet cleaning, which has many features that make it an eco-friendly choice that still allows for a high-quality deep clean.

First and foremost, VLM carpet cleaning uses 70% less water than traditional methods. Old-school wet cleaning methods use a significant amount of water, which also leads to an abundance of wastewater that is detrimental to the environment. VLM carpet cleaning is an excellent way to conserve water.

VLM carpet cleaning also reduces chemical usage. It relies on an eco-friendly, enzymatic solution that’s 100% safe for children and pets alike. The dry foam cleaning solution is then massaged into the carpet’s fibers using a rotary machine.

Unlike traditional methods, VLM doesn’t rely on detergents to loosen dirt. Instead, it uses natural encapsulation chemicals that surround and capture the dirt.

Because VLM carpet cleaning uses so much less water than steam cleaning does, there’s no need to suction the water out of the carpet once the cleaning project is finished. That makes the process much more energy-efficient, as it removes a high energy output step.

After VLM cleaning, a carpet will dry on its own within two to four hours – without any harsh chemicals or sticky residue left behind.

It’s also important to note that VLM carpet cleaning reduces waste and pollution. Remember that wastewater that we mentioned before? In traditional cleaning methods, so much wastewater is produced, and it can be difficult to filter out the chemicals from that water.

Oftentimes, the wastewater is returned to the environment in an unsafe way. VLM carpet cleaning gets rid of this wasteful and harmful step.

Choosing an Eco-Friendly VLM Carpet Cleaner

When you’re looking for an eco-friendly VLM carpet cleaner, there are many considerations to take into account. You’ll want to make sure that the carpet cleaning company you choose has all of the proper equipment and insurance overage. That will provide peace of mind that your investment will be protected if anything goes wrong.

It’s also important to ask questions about the process because every cleaner does it slightly differently. Sometimes even technicians who have the right tools and equipment may do a subpar job if they lack industry knowledge or are lazy. For example, if your cleaning job is scheduled in the afternoon after a few other jobs, an inexperienced technician may not adequately clean their equipment, bringing germs from the last house into yours.

You should also do some research and ask for referrals. If you have friends or family members who have had successful VLM carpet cleaning experiences, ask them where they found their technician and why they hired them.

It’s important to remember that you’ll often get a better price if you choose to clean all the carpets in your house at once, rather than just heavily affected areas. Look around and add items such as upholstered chairs, sofas, mattress, and area rugs. Using a whole house approach will help your carpets stay clean longer.

Conclusion

When it’s time to clean your carpets, eco-friendly VLM carpet cleaning is the right way to go. You’ll get many benefits, including effectively deep-cleaned carpets without prolonged drying times, improved indoor air quality, and the potential to extend the life of your carpets. You’ll be able to protect the investment you’ve made in your home’s look.

VLM carpet cleaning can help protect you and your family from breathing in harmful microbes, dust, and dirt that often take hold in a carpet’s fibers. When you get rid of these pests, you’ll be breathing cleaner, better air. Plus, all this debris can wear down the fibers of your carpet. Make sure your carpets have a long life ahead by treating them right with VLM cleaning.

You’ll get the satisfaction of knowing that you chose an environmentally friendly cleaning method built with sustainability in mind. When you work with a planet-conscious business like Be Green, you’re helping prioritize the long-term health of our Earth.

And you’re not making a compromise on your carpet’s cleanliness – VLM carpet cleaning will make it look better than ever.

No matter what your carpets look like today, they have the potential to look better tomorrow. It’s crucial to find an eco-friendly VLM carpet cleaner and follow a regular cleaning schedule. This will ultimately protect the investment you’ve made in your rugs and carpets and ensure that you’re able to enjoy them for years to come.

Carpet Cleaning for Pets – Remove Pet Stains and Odors

Dog with spots falling off - remove pet stains and odors

Pets bring a lot of love into our homes, but they also bring a lot of stains and odors. No matter how well trained your pet is, accidents happen. Kittens take time to get used to new litter boxes, and excitable pups tend to pee when they get excited.

Whatever the reason for pet stains, you must act fast, it can become impossible to get out of your carpets. You need to have a plan for cleaning up any urine and stains that might occur in your home. This is why we are here to fix your furry friends’ accidents whenever they happen.

Can Professional Carpet Cleaning Remove Pet Odors?

Professional carpet cleaning services will remove most debris, but shampoo might not be able to remove pet smells completely. Hot water activates the bacteria in the urine, giving it the distinct odor we pet owners have come to dread. Using steam after a carpet shampoo will release the pet odors in your carpets, not get rid of them.

Here at Be Green Carpet Cleaning, saving water and using safer products is our priority. This is why dry foam encapsulation is the best way to remove pet stains and odors from your carpet.

Why Can’t I Use a Traditional Carpet Cleaner?

When using pet stain remover and carpet cleaning products, you’re only focusing on the surface level of your carpets. Household cleaners only deodorizer the surface and temporarily eliminate pet odors while lifting the surface-level waste from your carpet. This method might help tide you over, but it won’t fix the problem in the long term.

Our Pet Stain and Odor Removal Services

Most household carpet cleaning products only treat the surface of your carpet. Products like this are fine for temporarily cleaning the visible part of the animal waste or stains on the carpet. While these products can provide a temporary fix, they won’t remove pet stains and odors longterm.

How to Remove Pet Odors and Stains

We aim to completely remove pet odors and stains from your carpet using our dry encapsulation method of cleaning carpets. Our method provides a more permanent solution than any temporary over-the-counter carpet cleaning product can provide.

Pet Urine Odor Removal

The Be Green all natural solutions remove pet odors and stains quickly. Our proprietary “KillOdorizer” penetrates deep into the carpet’s surface to eliminate all the foul smelling dried urine crystals. Every service comes with a satisfaction guarantee, if you’re not completely happy, then you don’t pay for it!

How Our Pet Stain and Odor Removal Service Works:

Black light identifies dog and cat urine in carpet
A black light will quickly highlight any dog or cat urine stains

Step 1: Evaluate the Situation

Be Green carpet cleaning experts will come to your home and move any furniture that one person can safely move. They will then expertly analyze your home using a blacklight and make note of all the areas that need attention. Removing pet stains and odors starts with identifying sneaky pee spots and hidden animal marking areas in the beginning.

Step 2: Pretreatment – Rake, Vacuum, & Spot Treat

Raking carpet to dislodge dot and cat urine
Raking the carpet will dislodge all the trapped dust & dirt

Using a rake, your service provider will dislodge any trapped dust, dirt, and other solid particles. Carpet raking loosens the solid particles and the stiff nylon bristles comb through the fibers to remove long pet hair. Raking is a painstaking process because it requires stamina and strength. However, it is a crucial step before vacuuming and spraying on the enzyme spotter.

A thorough vacuuming making sure not to miss corners and edges.
A thorough vacuuming covers corners and edges.

After a vigorous raking, your service provider will start vacuuming. Corners and edges will get extra special attention. Professional grade vacuums have their filters cleaned out in-between every appointment. A thorough vacuuming will remove pet hair, dirt, bugs, and fecal matter traffic’d in from pet’s feet. Only fats, oils, germs and bacteria remain. Before applying any new moisture we strive to remove as much dry material as possible. This is important because water + dirt = mud, and mud is much harder to remove!

To begin the spot treatment process, your service provider will spray a fermented spotter enzyme solution all over the fibers. Areas with stubborn stains or heavy soils will get special attention.

Our pretreatment solution is an all natural enzyme solution which contains the active ingredient: Protease (Subtilisin). Before arriving to your home, your service provider will have prepared this spotter solution for weeks ahead of time. This enzyme is a highly reactive organic compound and has fermented for weeks. It actually get’s stronger with age. Once the enzyme is ripe, it becomes super effective at breaking chemical bonds and digesting proteins. Next, the spotting solution get’s applied everywhere (sprayed). This is where the magic starts to happen: a chemical reaction breaks down the proteins, fats, and oils which dissipate into basic amino acids, peptides, and carbon molecules. Of course, this treatment is safe for pets and children. Carbon detectors may trigger the alarms. This is not uncommon, it just means the organic chemical reaction is working! Standard ventilation will displace the air quickly.

Step 3: Shampoo – Cleanse the Carpet

Carpet Shampoo

After the spot treatment, your service provider will message the carpet with a bubbly foam shampoo and citric acid mixture. The carpet shampoo is a surfactant soap and will unfold the left over proteins, leaving behind zero residue. Additionally, the citric acid acts as an all natural brightener to make the white’s whiter and colors more vivid. Citric acid is less harsh than chemicals like hydrogen peroxide or bleach. Fun fact: citric acid is an organic compound and abundantly found in nature. It’s what makes oranges, lemons and limes taste so sour!

During the shampoo, Be Green service providers are careful to not to “soak” the carpet. Keeping the moisture content as low as possible helps prevent mildew, mold and other bacteria regrowth. This is where your carpets get the refreshing bath they deserve. All of the previously sticky and gummed up carpet fibers will now be clean and smoothed.

After the shampoo, the carpets immediately begin to look cleaner and brighter. However, pungent odors from dog or cat urine may smell even worse now that the moisture has reactivated pee spots. Pet owners should additionally purchase deodorizer and stain guard (protection) described in the next steps.

Step 4: Disinfect and Deodorize

After your carpet has been shampoo’d, the carpet will look much brighter and feel rejuvenated to the touch. But looks aren’t everything! The only thing that’s going to remove pet stains and odors is KillOdorizer (our powerfully effective deodorizing solution). The strength of the deodorizer solution varies because it depends on the severity of your issue. Everybody’s home is different and our beloved pets always find ways to leave behind messes. Even the most strictly trained animals find hidden places to mark their territory, it’s just in their instinctual nature. We love our pets so much, but their outdoor tendencies can be a real pain. Trust us, we’ve seen it all!

KillOdorizer work’s wonders because it has two primary active ingredients: methyl alcohol, and all natural essential oils. The methyl alcohol is the sanitizing disinfection agent, which quickly destroys germs, bacteria, and animal waste festering in the carpet. The essential oils provide a refreshing light fragrance to enhance the feeling of your newly cleaned carpet. KillOdorizer is available in several different scents and the fragrances are extracted from all natural plant and other fruit sources.

(Optional but necessary for pet accidents)

As mentioned above, adding a deodorizer is an optional purchase because it’s application varies drastically from home to home. Severely soiled areas require multiple applications of disinfectant, while other areas may only need 1 single application to smell fantastic. Your service provider will analyze every area with a blacklight to determine how many applications of disinfectant your home needs. We often find pet accidents in hidden areas. Regardless, you can’t go wrong by adding applications of KillOdorizer onto your order. Keep in mind: some rooms may need more, while some rooms may need less.

Step 5: Soil Retardant (Optional)

Finally, fully protect your carpets with a high quality stain guard. You may choose to add on an application of stain guard protection. Our soil retardant is like a force field against future stains and pet accidents. Although it will not train your cat to use a toilet, or show your dog to the doggy door, it will provide a silicone based protective layer to your carpet fibers which makes pet urine & other accidents much easier to clean up in between professional cleanings. Soil Retardant is the cherry on top add on to help you protect your investment and keep your carpets looking and smelling fresh all year long.

Pet Carpet Stain Cleaning Tips

When pet accidents happen in your home, acting quickly is extremely important. If you find a fresh urine stain or pet waste, you may be able to prevent long-term staining and odors with the proper methods.

  • Pick up waste: If your pet has thrown up or defecated on your carpet, pick up as much as possible before focusing on the stain.
  • Blot the stain: Apply a clean, dry cloth over the stain and press down firmly to absorb any moisture. Avoid rubbing, as this can rub the stain into the fibers of your carpet.
  • Rinse the stain: Using a wet clean cloth, apply it to the stain until the area is damp. You don’t want to soak your carpet; if you add too much water, the urine or stain will soak deeper into the carpet.
  • Blot the area until dry: Apply another clean cloth to blot the rinsed area. Repeat until there is no more liquid to absorb.
  • Repeat steps 2 and 3: Repeat these steps until there are no more stains visible and as little odor as possible.
  • Note: There are some pet & child friendly natural house hold cleaning solutions available for DIY use, although you should read the labels carefully and make sure to follow the instructions as best you can. We’re happy to refer you to our friends over at The Pet Fix for handheld spray solutions that you can use yourself. Just keep in mind, these solutions may work well temporarily, but they will not come anywhere close to providing a full on professional carpet cleaning from a Be Green Service Provider.

If your pet stain has settled or leaked into the subfloor, this method won’t work. However, this process will work on fresh stains, so try to catch them as soon as possible.

Using these methods, you can easily help prevent accident stains and help take any old stains and odors out of your carpet for good.

Be Green Carpet Cleaning’s Commitment To Sustainability

Be Green Carpet Cleaning is about more than just making your carpets clean. Because we’re a green business, we know it takes more than just reducing our waste and choosing sustainable materials. We hope to one day be one of the most sustainable cleaning companies and continue to make a difference in our communities.

Be Green Carpet Cleaning is focused on company sustainability and going green as a core part of our business model. Carpet cleaning uses many resources, from the chemicals that remove dirt to the water used in the service.

This is why we focus on saving water and using eco-friendly products and techniques such as dry foam encapsulation rather than traditional “steam cleaning” or hot water extraction.

Who is Be Green Carpet Cleaning?

Be Green Carpet Cleaning brings sustainability to more than just our dry carpet cleaning and disinfecting services. We also work to provide our customers with healthier living spaces. With a shared love for sustainability and excellence, our service providers and administrative staff work together to make Be Green Carpet Cleaning a sustainable business today.

Be Green Carpet Cleaning Sustainability

You won’t find greenwashing in our sustainability efforts. Instead, you’ll find that we are intentional as a business to be more eco-friendly. We have worked hard to establish best practices within Be Green Carpet Cleaning, but we know that sustainability requires more than just what we do within our own business. One of the ways we’ve chosen to do this is by partnering with One Tree Planted.

Why Work with a Green Business?

Every little thing we can do for the environment makes a big difference. While efforts such as compostable packaging or green cleaning products might feel small, they make a significant positive impact over time.

Environmentally friendly companies can do several things to help their business be more green:

  • Make eco-friendly charitable donations
  • Choose green suppliers and manufacturers
  • Make sustainability part of their core values
  • Utilize green energy whenever possible
  • …and so much more!

Our choice to make our business more sustainable stems from being aware of the issues, and understanding how we can make changes to contribute to a cleaner future for our planet.

We have established company sustainability in a few core areas of our business:

  • Working with natural and organic cleaning agents
  • Minimizing waste and using sustainable materials
  • Purchasing green equipment and products
  • Lowering energy and water consumption and improving efficiency
  • Equal and fair opportunities for staff and service providers

One-for-One Be Green Carpet Cleaning Company Sustainability Efforts

Sustainability isn’t something one business or one person can do alone, which is why we’ve chosen to contribute to One Tree Planted. One Tree Planted has planted over 40 million trees across the globe since 2014 and shares our vision of a greener world.

Through donations from our services, One Tree Planted works with its partners to grow saplings and plant them during rainy seasons. Trees are monitored to ensure growth, and then they report your impact! Through this green company, we can aid in environmental conservation and restoration and help with global reforestation efforts.

Be Green is committed to planting a tree for every service we provide to our customers.

We have begun contributing to One Tree Planted this year, and with their help, we intend to become one of the most sustainable green companies.

Here’s how many trees we’ve planted: 5,980

How Does One Tree Planted Fit Into Be Green Carpet Cleaning?

One Tree Planted has the vision to make it easy for anyone to help the environment and make planting trees sustainable for anyone.

For every dollar donated, One Tree Planted will plant one tree.

Through their partnerships with U.S. Forest Service, U.S. State Forest, and Conservation District, they can plant trees in various areas across the United States.

One Tree Planted shares many of our core sustainability values, making them the perfect way for us to make eco-friendly charitable contributions. While cleaning carpets and upholstery is our specialty, planted trees are One Tree Planted’s specialty.

Why Plant Trees?

Trees are a lot more helpful than we often give them credit for. They clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitats for over 80% of the world’s terrestrial fauna. These forests also provide jobs to over a billion people and are a vital ingredient in nearly a quarter of all medicines.

One Tree Planted plants trees in North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Pacific. They have planted trees in more than a dozen US states, three Canadian provinces, and Mexico in North America alone.

In the wake of major wildfires across California, many of their restoration projects have been focused on repairing damage caused by resource extraction, restoring forests, and even protecting endangered Orcas through their sustainability efforts.

How Much Does it Cost to Plant a Tree?

One Tree Planted has more than doubled the number of trees planted yearly since it began in 2014. They have dedicated extensive time and effort to make it easier for everyone to give back to the environment. One Tree Planted is committed to planting one tree for every $1 donated.

You may be thinking to yourself, how can you plant a tree for only $1? The answer isn’t very simple, and the cost of planting a tree can vary quite a bit based on location and project size. This is why they work with local planting partners to lay out where, why, and how the trees will be planted.

The direct costs of planting trees are:

  • Seed/seedlings (typically $0.30 to $0.80 per tree)
  • Site preparation & planting (typically $0.20 to $0.50 per tree)
  • Equipment & materials (typically $0.05 to $0.20 per tree)
  • Site monitoring & maintenance for three years (typically $0.30 to $1 per tree)

One Tree Planted covers the cost of the seed and seedlings at a minimum, and everything else is covered within their one-tree planted model.

How Can You Join The Mission?

You are already helping One Tree Planted by purchasing any of our services. One Tree Planted will plant a tree for every service we provide our customers. By choosing Be Green as your trusted service provider, you are also planting more trees!
