Things were different when I started in the carpet cleaning industry over 35 years ago. I wish I could say they were different in a good way, but the truth is, the industry has toxic roots. It wasn’t intentional—we simply didn’t realize how many products and practices were harming our environment and, quite frankly, us.
As a young man, I watched my father battle a terminal illness that I believe stemmed from prolonged exposure to harsh chemicals. Witnessing his decline and eventual loss to what I felt was an avoidable fate cemented my mission: to make carpet cleaning safer. Since founding Be Green Carpet Cleaning in 2011, my goal has been to create a safe environment for Service Providers, a healthy home for clients and their pets, and to protect our ecosystem.
Despite persistent misconceptions about chemicals and cleaning levels—sanitizing, disinfecting, sterilizing—today’s clients are more informed than ever. Advances in cleaning science allow us to harness natural enzymes and understand the impact of physical processes on cleaning results.
